A Thousand Hills to Heaven: Love, Hope, and a Restaurant in Rwanda by Josh Ruxan. A good perspective on NGOs operating in Rwanda.
A Thousand Hills (book): The biography of President Kagame which is especially interesting as it not only is the story of his life but also an up to date history of the evolvement of Rwanda during and after the genocide in 1994.
Shake Hands With the Devil (Book, Movie and Documentary 3 different versions and formats available): The story of Canadian Lt. Gen Romeo Dallaire who oversaw the U.N. Peacekeeping mission during the 1994 genocide and tried desperately to get help into the country.
Triage (documentary): The story of a Canadian physician who goes back to Rwanda to revisit where he spent his first assignment for Doctors Without Border in Rwanda as a new young physician when the genocide occurs.
